Postponed Examination Of Garuda Siwi Sidi Flight Attendants

JAKARTA - Some time ago, the flight attendant for Garuda, Siwi Sidi Purwanti, reported the Twitter account @digeeembok on the accusation of defamation. Siwi considers his good name to be tarnished by the account, because he is referred to as a deposit of one of the state-owned airline's top brass.

Reporting of the Garuda flight attendants has been registered under the number LP / 8420 / XII / 2019 / PMJ / Dit. Reskrimsus, dated December 28, 2019. So with this report, the owner of the Twitter account was charged under Article 27 paragraph 3 in conjunction with Article 43 paragraph 3 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE and / or Article 310 of the Criminal Code and / or Article 311 of the Criminal Code.

With this report, investigators scheduled an examination of Siwi Sidi Purwanti as a first step for disclosure. The plan for the flight attendants to be questioned was Monday, January 13, at around 10.00 WIB.

However, the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus, said that the investigation agenda had to be canceled because Siwi was blocked from being busy with work. His attorney has also sent a letter requesting a postponement of the investigation.

"We will reschedule Siwi's summons while we wait for Siwi to return from out of town. Later, we will immediately take information or clarification on the report he has made," said Yusri in Jakarta, Monday, January 13.

Although he canceled his examination of Siwi, investigators will still take the testimony of several witnesses and an advocacy team from the flight attendants today. The reason was that Siwi did not report the alleged defamation directly, but was represented by a man named Audy Rahmat.

The examination of the two men took place at 11.00 WIB. "So today the advocate directly on behalf of Audy, who made a Police Report (LP). Today he was present with one more witness, and information was taken by the investigators of the Polda Metro Jaya Ditremskrimsus," said Yusri.

Meanwhile, contacted separately, Siwi's Attorney, Vidi G Syarief, confirmed the postponement of the examination of his client. According to him, this was because the flight attendant was in Shanghai, China.

"Yes, it is impossible (to attend the examination). He (Siwi) flew today," said Vidi.

In addition, regarding the examination of Audy and another witness, Vidi also confirmed. It's just that, he could not confirm the presence of the two people. "Yes, it is true that there were examinations, but I cannot confirm whether they were present or not," he said.

Thus, on suspicion of defamation, the owner of the Twitter account may be subject to Article 27 paragraph 3 of the 2019 Law concerning ITE and 310, 311 of the Criminal Code, which carries approximately four years in prison.
