The President Gives Directions To Djaka Budi Before Acting Director General Of The Ministry Of Finance, Is It The Director General Of Customs And Excise?

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto gave directions to the Main Secretary of BIN Lt. Gen. TNI Djaka Budi Utama before serving as director general (dirjen) position at the Ministry of Finance. Will he fill the position of Director General of Customs and Excise?

This was conveyed by Bimo Wijayanto after he and Djaka Budi hoped for President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday, as reported by Antara.

"Today, I and Mr. Lt. Gen. Djaka Budi Utama were summoned by the President, he gave many directions," said Bimo when giving a statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday.

It was also revealed that he and Djaka Budi were given the mandate to join the Ministry of Finance.

When asked about the position of Director General (Dirjen) of Customs and Excise to be held by Djaka Budi, Bimo asked the media crew to wait for an official announcement, as well as the inauguration at the Ministry of Finance. "Later, the official announcement will be awaited by the Ministry of Finance," said Bimo.

During his meeting with the President, the Head of State gave directions to the two candidates for the Director General of the Ministry of Finance regarding the government's commitment to improve Indonesia's tax system.

Previously, it was rumored that the Director General of Customs and Excise Askolani would be replaced by Lieutenant General TNI Djaka Budi Utama.

Director General of Customs and Excise Askolani when met by reporters at the parliament complex, Monday (19/5), only answered that he did not know about the discourse on shifting the position he currently sits on. "Oh, I don't know," he said.

Askolani has served as Director General of Customs and Excise since March 12, 2021. On the other hand, Djaka Budi Utama is now the Main Secretary of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).
