Police Arrest People Carrying Slingshots During Demonstration 1310

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya arrested one person because he was caught carrying a slingshot during a riotous demonstration against the Job Creation Law on Tuesday, October 13.

"Of the 1,377, we detained one of them, someone brought a catapult yesterday," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Yusri Yunus at the Mako Polda Metro Jaya reported by Antara , Thursday, October 15.

Yusri explained that the Polda Metro Jaya secured 1,377 people in connection with the October 13, 2020 riots . However, most of the rioters who were arrested had already been sent home on the condition that their parents picked them up and made a statement not to repeat their actions.

The police obliged the rioters to be picked up by their parents because most of the rioters were still underage students.

However, there were 47 people who could not be sent home by the police because they were declared reactive when they carried out a rapid COVID-19 test. The 47 youths were then taken to the COVID-19 asymptomatic isolation facility (OTG) to undergo a swab test.

"But out of 1377, 47 were reactive, this is what we have not returned home, but left it in Pademangan in an isolation house for the COVID-19 test," he concluded.
