JAKARTA - Secretary of State Minister Prasetyo Hadi emphasized President Prabowo Subianto's commitment to eradicating corruption in all state institutions, following the development of investigations into alleged corruption cases being carried out by the joint team of the National Corruption Eradication Commission (Kortastipidkor) and the Metro Jaya Police, including the alleged involvement of high-ranking officials in the Attorney General's Office.

Prasetyo said President Prabowo since the beginning of his administration has repeatedly reminded all state apparatus to immediately carry out reforms and cleanse themselves of corruption practices before law enforcement officers take action.

"He repeatedly reminded all levels of government, especially state apparatus, to immediately mend and cleanse themselves before law enforcement or cleaning actions are carried out," said Prasetyo in a written statement quoted by Antara, Friday, July 10.

According to Prasetyo, the President considers corruption as one of the biggest problems that must be solved seriously without discrimination.

Therefore, all state institutions are required to strengthen governance, increase integrity, and ensure that public services are free from the practice of abuse of authority.

"Mr. President, as the Head of State and Head of Government, continues to emphasize that corruption is one of the biggest homework of this nation," he said.

The statement was made amid public attention to the investigation conducted by the joint team of the National Police and the Metro Jaya Police regarding alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) related to coal governance, the development of the PT Asabri (Persero) and Jiwasraya cases, and the settlement of PT CBS's debt obligations to PT KNI.

During the investigation process, investigators have conducted searches at 13 locations in Jakarta and its surroundings to collect evidence.

The case also raised allegations of the involvement of officials in the Attorney General's Office. Until now, the investigation process is still ongoing and law enforcement officers have not determined the final conclusion regarding the parties responsible.

Prasetyo emphasized that the government fully respects the ongoing legal process and will not interfere with the work of law enforcement officers.

"We all respect every legal process that is being carried out by the Law Enforcement Agency (APH), in this case the Police. We also uphold the principle of presumption of innocence so that it is free from speculation and unproductive assessments," he said.

He added that various challenges in eradicating corruption should not weaken the commitment of the government and the community. On the contrary, this momentum should be a reminder for all state organizers to strengthen integrity and accountability.

"However, whatever challenges we face, we must not give up and we must not lose heart. We must continue to improve governance, strengthen integrity, and build a clean government," said Prasetyo.

In addition, the government also invites all elements of the nation to maintain national stability and not to turn the legal process into an inter-institutional conflict. According to Prasetyo, law enforcement must be seen as part of a joint effort to clean up corrupt practices in order to strengthen public confidence in state institutions.

The government hopes that the entire investigation process can run professionally, transparently, and in accordance with legal provisions, so that President Prabowo's commitment to building a clean government is truly realized through fair law enforcement against anyone who is proven to have committed a criminal act of corruption.
