Task Force: Only 12 COVID-19 Patients In Central Kalimantan

KALTENG - There are currently 12 patients who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 who are being treated at hospitals in the Central Kalimantan Province (Kalteng).

"This number is based on the latest data from the task force team as of last Saturday, May 14," said Central Kalimantan COVID-19 Task Force Public Communications Team Representative Agus Siswadi in Palangka Raya, quoted by Antara, Sunday 15 May.

In addition to the 12 people undergoing treatment at the hospital, there were 31 other people who were confirmed positive but undergoing self-isolation or isoman. With the number of positive confirmed patients in the treatment, the percentage is only 0.08 percent.

Based on the distribution data, patients who are being treated in hospitals or in self-isolation include those in Palangka Raya, Kapuas, East Kotawaringin, Murung Raya, and several others.

Meanwhile, based on accumulated data since the first case of COVID-19 in Central Kalimantan was discovered, the number of confirmed positive patients is now 57,077 people, consisting of 55,342 people recovered, 43 people being treated and 1,692 people dying.

Agus further reminded, although currently the spread of COVID-19 cases has slowed, the Task Force still asks the public to be disciplined in implementing health protocols in their activities.

"Together we must remain vigilant about the spread of COVID-19, namely with discipline in implementing health protocols," he said.

The health protocols that are always reminded of are wearing masks, washing hands with soap and running water, maintaining distance, and avoiding or preventing crowds.

"In addition, the public is also asked to succeed in the realization of the vaccination target for the community," he explained.

He said that the current vaccination target was already high, both for doses one and two, but it could still be increased, including for the elderly and others. The goal is that group immunity or herd immunity in the community can be realized optimally.
