May Day Fiesta Appreciation Goes Well, Police: According To Concept And Plan

JAKARTA - The police appreciate the May Day Fiesta activities in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Senayan and DPR RI, Central Jakarta, Saturday, May 14. Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief (Jakpus) Kombes Komarudin said the activities organized by the Labor Party and the Indonesian Labor Movement went smoothly.

"The whole series went smoothly. We appreciate it, thank you for the cooperation, which means that this activity is going according to our concept and plan," said Komarudin to reporters in the GBK Senayan area, Saturday, May 14.

Komarudin claimed that this activity did not disturb the community even though it was held at two different points. In addition, there was also no diversion even though the May Day Fiesta was attended by thousands of workers.

In fact, Komarudin said the security activities had been declared complete.

"Until now, (since, ed) at 17.30 we stated that the security activities were complete and gradually our brothers and sisters, workers have returned to their respective areas," he said.

As for the participants, said Komarudin, it is predicted that around 15-20 thousand people will attend. This can be seen from the occupancy of the Bung Karno Main Stadium.

However, this number could also change because the police saw many people who did not enter the stadium.

"But once again. We thank you. Appreciation (to) fellow workers because they can show that these are the moments of the democratic era, it should be like that," he said.

"We appreciate that community activities continue, labor activities continue, and security continues," continued Komarudin.

As previously reported, Labor Party President Said Iqbal claimed that there were around 50 thousand people who took part in the May Day Fiesta. They come from laborers, farmers, fishermen, honorary teachers, to online motorcycle taxi drivers or what is commonly referred to as the working class.
