JAKARTA – The man with the initials MRH (22) a resident of Pesanggrahan, Bintaro, South Jakarta, is one of nine robbers in the Kebayoran Baru Market area, South Jakarta. MRH was arrested while trying to seize the motorbike. Because the target for the robbers was a member of the TNI, the action of MRH and his colleagues was thwarted.

According to official TNI AD data uploaded to the website, the victims of the robbery were two TNI members from Yonarhanud 10/ABC Kodam Jaya in the Pasar Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, Prada Junior Noval and Prada Ardian Sapta Savela on Saturday, May 7, at 05.15. WIB.

The victim was traveling home at the time of the incident after shopping at the Kebayoran Baru Market. According to Syarief, the incident began in the vicinity of SMPN 29 South Jakarta, at that time there were three motorbike riders, a total of 9 people suspected of being robbers.

"Our members came home from shopping for their daily needs at traditional markets using motorbikes. While on the way home, there were several people who tried to attack, which most likely would commit robberies against our members," said Battalion Commander Arhanud 10/ABC Lieutenant Colonel Arh Syarief SB, Monday, May 9th.

One of the perpetrators, continued Syarief, had thrown stones at members of Arhanud 10/ABC, but was avoided. A group of thugs immediately attacked the two members for no reason. At that moment, the two TNI members fought back by kicking one of the perpetrators' motorbikes, which squeezed the two soldiers' motorbikes, causing them to fall.

One suspect was arrested, while the other managed to escape. It is suspected that the nine robbers were under the influence of liquor or alcohol.

Furthermore, the Battalion Commander Arhanud 10/ ABC Lieutenant Colonel Arh Syarief Syah Banjar appreciated the actions of his subordinates.

"This is an example of the actions that should have been taken by TNI soldiers, to maintain the security of the community, including from criminal acts on the streets," he said.

"Hopefully this is a good example, and we urge the public not to be afraid to report if a crime has happened to anyone," he continued.

The perpetrator has been handed over to the Kebayoran Baru Police to be held accountable for his actions and further legal proceedings will be carried out.

Separately, the Head of the Kebayoran Baru Police, Kompol Donni Bagus Wibisono, said that his party was currently developing the case of the robbery.

"Yes, there is, (now) it is being developed," said Kompol Donni when confirmed, Monday, May 9.
