DENPASAR - Bali Governor Wayan Koster ordered the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Bali to immediately deport two Russian citizens who took nude photos of a sacred tree in Kayu Putih, Tua Village, Tabanan Regency.

"It's much more important for us to maintain culture and respect the dignity of Bali than we are to tolerate actions that make Balinese culture unguarded and damage the image of tourism", said Koster when giving a press statement, in Jayasabha, Denpasar, Friday, May 6.

Therefore, Koster asked the two Russian citizens, namely Alina Fazleeva and her husband Amdrei Fazleev, to be deported and immediately leave Bali.

According to Koster, the person concerned has indeed apologized and is also willing to carry out a ceremony or ritual for the Piduka teacher, cleaning. However, that is not enough and must be given a deportation penalty because it concerns the honor of the noble culture of Bali which must be upheld together.

Koster again conveyed that Bali tourism was held on a culture-based basis, oriented to quality and maintaining the dignity of Balinese culture.

The Bali Provincial Government has also established Regional Regulation No. 5 of 2020 concerning Standards for the Implementation of Bali Tourism and Governor Regulation No. 28 of 2020 concerning Bali Tourism Governance.

Thus, related to Bali tourism according to the regional regulations and the governor's regulation, it is being arranged so that it is really implemented to maintain the culture, respect culture, and respect existing traditions.

Koster said that he would continue to take firm action against all violations so that this would not happen again in the future and become a lesson for travelers and domestic and foreign tourists.

"So far, the most unethical and irresponsible acts are foreign tourists", said Koster, quoted by Antara.

The Head of the Regional Office of the Bali Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Jamaruli Manihuruk, said that from the results of the examination, the foreigner was proven to have carried out activities that endangered public order and did not respect the applicable regulations.

Because of that, said Jamaruli, an immigration administrative action will be given in the form of deportation and his name will be included in the Deterrent List as referred to in Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

"We appeal to the public throughout the province of Bali to proactively monitor and report various types of violations committed by foreigners to the authorities, so that decisive action can be taken", he also said.

Likewise for all foreigners who visit Bali, to always behave in an orderly manner by respecting the laws and cultural values of the Balinese people.

"Please enjoy the beauty of Bali Island, but if you commit a violation there will be no hiding place because every violation will be dealt with firbywith applicable regulations", he said.

Based on the results of the examination of the foreign married couple, they are investors who founded PT Art Planet Evolution, which is engaged in clothing and musical instruments.

They admit that the viral photo uploaded to Alina Fazleeva's personal Instagram account was hers which was taken on May 1, 2022, at Kayu Putih Tourism Object, Banjar Dinas Bayan, Tua Village, Tabanan.

The husband and wife admitted that they did not mean to disrespect Balinese culture. The motive is to take a photo with the theme of blending with nature which according to the foreigner is included in art and used as personal documentation.
