MAKASSAR - In the two weeks of the Makassar Pilkada campaign, the candidate for deputy mayor Fatmawati Rusdi went down to meet residents almost every day. Enthusiasm is always seen at every meeting location face-to-face with the Mohammad Ramdhan Pomanto (Danny Pomanto) pair.

On several visits, the candidate for deputy walkot Makassar number 1 was picked up by supporters and residents at the mouth of the alley — as the alley is called in Makassar —. Fatma was then paraded and accompanied by yells until he arrived at the location of the dialogue with the residents.

Having a simple personality and being easy to get along with, makes Fatma's interactions with various levels of society flow. Small talk with residents is often presented before the dialogue takes place.

Fatma's long-awaited arrival has made local residents from millennials, mothers-to-be, to community leaders, to capture the moment by taking a selfie.

"Even if I wear a mask, it's still beautiful, Mrs. Fatma," is an expression of admiration among women.

Fatma in each of his campaigns always emphasizes citizens to always implement strict COVID-19 health protocols. This former DPR member often apologized to residents for not removing his mask when accepting photo requests.

"We are sorry, the father-mother, I do not open maskerku. It's for the good of all ta. Maskerku guard ki ta masks, watch me," said Fatma quoted from a written statement Sunday, October 11th.

Apart from the program presentation, Fatmwa provided many opportunities for residents to share their thoughts or express suggestions and opinions.

From there it was revealed the hopes of the residents, especially from women, who wanted a woman to lead the city of Makassar.

"We need female leaders. Everyone says that Mrs. Fatma is a kind and caring person," said Nurjannah, a resident of Untia Urban Village, Biringkanaya District.

In several locations, residents also told Fatma that posyandu cadres get more attention. "God willing, Mrs. Fatma will be elected. If later elected, increase the posyandu cadre incentives a little," said one posyandu cadre in Mappala Village, Rappocini District.

In addition, residents also hope that Fatma, who accompanies Danny Pomanto, will continue to pay attention to the incentives of the RT / RW head, the Koran teacher, the mosque imam, to the funeral bath.

"The incentives during Mr. Danny's era were very smooth, ma'am. Now there are no three months. Hopefully, if Mrs. Fatma and Mr. Danny are re-elected as before, the incentives will run smoothly," said one RT head in Bonto Lebang Village, Mamajang District.

Fatma, who accommodated the residents' thoughts and hopes, said that all of this was the responsibility of the government. If he and Danny Pomanto are elected, there will be 24 strategic programs which are all for the benefit of the residents and the development of Makassar City.
