JAKARTA - The airline Citilink has opened two new routes for the 2022 Lebaran homecoming period. The routes are Surabaya-Sumenep PP and Balikpapan-Tarakan PP. The opening of this new route is expected to increase inter-regional connectivity.

"Flighting this new route is a form of Citilink's commitment to improve transportation accessibility, especially air transportation, so that people can travel in a shorter and more efficient time," he said in an official statement, Friday, April 29.
Dewa said the Surabaya-Sumenep PP route would operate every Friday and Sunday. Meanwhile, the Balikpapan-Tarakan PP route will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday using ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Garuda and Citilink H-4 Lebaran passenger movement
Previously reported, the President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia said that until D-4 Lebaran, there were 95,492 passenger movements on both Garuda Indonesia and Citilink airlines.
"Garuda group airlines are ready to welcome the peak of the surge in passengers for going back and forth for Eid in 2022," he said.
With the surge in the number of passengers on Garuda Indonesia and Citilink airlines, it is expected to increase again in the evening until Friday 29 April 2022.
However, this increase is still smaller than the spike on April 25, 2022, which broke the 100 thousand passengers mark.
"So today and tomorrow the total for the Garuda Group is 95,492 people and there must be an addition at the last moment. The peak of the backflow is on May 7 or May 8," he said.
