The Importance Of Aligning Cultural Progress With Digital Literacy

JAKARTA - Bakti Kominfo and DPR RI held a Webinar with the theme "Cultural Advancement with Digital Literacy", on Friday, April 22. This Webinar event was filled by several speakers and presenters.

The event began with remarks by Wiryanta, as Director of Information and Communication for Human Development and Culture, Directorate General of IKP, Kemkominfo. He explained the material about developing culture by transforming digital technology.

"With the digital transformation/the current technology, we have to take advantage of technology by encouraging cultural progress, one of which is art itself, how society can preserve that culture with technology," he explained.

Rizki Sadig, as a Member of Commission I of the DPR RI also conveyed material about digitalization which could be a means for the government to maintain the cultural values of the people. One of them is about the problem of batik, wayang, and others.

"This can be done through content contained in the digital era which then becomes a means for the government to maintain historical values in developing and preserving culture. Bring up local content that is around us. Be it cooking, dance, and cultural content. others. If the public can appreciate it, it can be one of the government's promotions and means in maintaining cultural historical values," explained Rizki.
