One Active Patient Of COVID-19 In East Belitung

MANGGAR - The COVID-19 Task Force in East Belitung, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, stated that there was one active COVID-19 patient.

"There has been a drastic decline, previously there were 30 patients and now it has dropped to one," said the Head of the East Belitung Regency COVID Task Force, Ikhwan Fahrozi in Manggar, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 21.

He also said that up to now, a total of 110 people have died from a total of 5,909 confirmed residents.

The local government continues to search for residents who have the potential to have direct contact with positive patients with the corona virus, especially to anticipate the omicron variant.

"The vaccination program continues to be carried out, as part of efforts to prevent the spread of the new corona virus, especially for the Omicron variant," he said.

Ikhwan said that vaccination activities had been carried out on a massive scale to touch people in remote villages.

"We will continue to increase the vaccine quota, socialization to invite people to come to vaccine booths is also being intensified," he said.

The local government also continues to urge residents to adhere to the COVID-19 health protocol by always wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance.

"Adaptation of our new habits must change a healthy lifestyle by always complying with health protocols," he said.
