We Must Get Ready To Make A Certificate Before Marriage

JAKARTA - The government is throwing a discourse to require certification for prospective brides. This certification can be obtained through classes or prenuptial guidance.

The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said this certification will become mandatory in 2020. Enforcement will be determined for all prospective brides throughout Indonesia.

"If possible, next year 2020 (the marriage certification program) will begin," said Muhadjir at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), West Java, Wednesday, November 13.

Muhadjir said that certification with this training system had previously been carried out in Catholicism. In Catholicism, pre-marital education is carried out for three months. According to Muhadjir, this training is needed as a preparation step for married couples.

In the training, the prospective couples will also be given a variety of knowledge, including about managing emotions, finances to knowledge about health and reproductive organs.

"To ensure that he / she has sufficiently mastered the fields of knowledge that must be possessed, a certificate must be given," he said.

The management of this marriage certificate will later be under the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Health. This is because these two institutions play an important role in the next human life that will be generated through a marriage relationship.

Muhadjir explained, the Ministry of Health will later play a role in informing about health and various diseases that might endanger a married couple so that they cannot give birth to the perfect child.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religion does have the domain to take care of Indonesian marriage matters.

"Later I will discuss with the minister of religion and the minister of health. Because the starting point must be from there. Because if it is a birth defect, a defect in the womb, the next intervention cannot give birth to a completely normal generation of children, ”he said.

According to Muhadjir, this certification is not made up, but is an upgrading system related to married life, including the matter of how to become a family partner and also related to the reproductive system.

The issue of the reproductive system, said Muhadjir, is important because later a married couple will produce the nation's children who will have a major influence on Indonesia's future.

"They will give birth to children who will determine the future of this nation. That is where information on diseases that are dangerous to children, including stunting, must be given, "he concluded.
