Starting April 29, Yogyakarta Airport Reopens International Flights, Malaysia's Destination Becomes First

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura I Yogyakarta International Airport in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, will open international flight services to Malaysia starting April 29, 2022.

The temporary acting General Manager of Yogyakarta International Airport or Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) Agus Pandu Purnama in Kulon Progo, Saturday, April 16, said his party had held a coordination meeting with cross-agency to prepare for international flight services.

"On April 29, international flights from Malaysia were opened. For this reason, we held a coordination meeting with cross-agency to prepare for international flight services," said Agus Pandu Purnama as quoted by Antara.

He said the cross-agency coordination meeting involved Kodim 0731, Kulon Progo Police, CIQ, ground handling, and airlines, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Health, Regional III Airport Authority Office, Kulon Progo Health Service, Social Service and BPBD DIY.

For your information, CIQ is the process of examining customs and excise, immigration and quarantine officers to regulate, monitor and secure traffic in and out of people, goods and other living things.

Agus Pandu said the coordination was carried out as a follow-up to the Circular Letter of the COVID-19 Task Force Number 17 of 2022, Circular of the Director General of Immigration Number IMI-0549.GR.01.01 regarding immigration facilities, as well as Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation Number 42 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Overseas Travel.

There is a simplification of the arrival process, namely Overseas Travelers (PPLN) are required to download and fill out the PeduliLindung application completely, PPLNs do not need to fill out e-HAC, show vaccine cards/certificates, continue the journey except for 5x24 hour quarantine, and RT-PCR is carried out for those who symptomatic with a temperature above 37.5 degrees.

"In general, all agencies involved have expressed their readiness to support international flights through Yogyakarta International Airport," he said.
