Police Disband Actions Using Belts In BKT Rorotan Jakut

JAKARTA - A viral video on social media showing a brawl between youths in the Rorotan East Canal (BKT) flood area, Cilincing, North Jakarta (Jakut).

In the video uploaded to the Instagram account @Satu Suaraexpress, dozens of young men were seen attacking each other using belts.

Sounds from the video recorder asking to continue the brawl. "Continuously (brawl)," said the video recorder.

The account also states that the incident occurred on Saturday, April 9, in the early hours of the morning. However, this was denied by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilincing Police, AKP Alex Chandra.

He said the incident took place on Friday, April 8, at 4.30 WIB, when the Fajr prayer was approaching.

"Not this early this morning, but yesterday (Friday). The problem is that this morning it wasn't there," said Alex when confirmed by VOI, Saturday, April 9.

Alex said the brawl didn't last long. The police moved quickly to disperse the brawl.

"At that time the members immediately went there, immediately disbanded, about 20-30 people, no one was arrested," he said.

Alex did not confirm that there were no casualties in the incident. "There were no casualties," he said.
