Coastal Fishermen's Welfare Dongkrak Is The Reason For Central PWI And HNSI To Synergize

JAKARTA - "Many fishermen in Indonesia still live below the welfare line. HNSI is here as a liaison between fishermen and the government so that they get proper attention and assistance," said the General Chair of HNSI, Admiral TNI Purn. Sumardjono, while leading the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the General Chairperson of the Central PWI, Hendry Ch Bangun, at the Lorin Hotel, Sentul, Thursday, November 14.

This agreement covers various areas of cooperation, ranging from education, research, institutional development, publications, to community service. The main focus is the development of coastal humans as a strategic effort to improve the welfare of fishermen.

Chairman of the HNSI Advisory Board, Tinton Soeprapto, reminded the importance of real action from this collaboration.

"We hope that this collaboration will not only stop on paper. Real results that have a direct impact on fishermen are the main objectives," said Tinton.

The General Chairperson of the Central PWI, Hendry Ch Bangun, stated that PWI is ready to contribute according to its capacity as a press institution. "We are committed to supporting this program with concrete steps through a special team. The welfare of coastal communities is part of our responsibility," said Hendry.

At the same event, the Parent of the Prosperous Fisherman Cooperative (Inkonera) also collaborated with the LSP TRK, a certification agency engaged in operational and machine skills. This collaboration aims to improve the competence and professionalism of fishermen through standard certification.
