The Role Of Youth In Digital Literacy 4.0 With The Meaning Of Pancasila And Culture

JAKARTA - Wednesday, March 31, the Directorate General of Information and Communication of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics and the Indonesian House of Representatives held a seminar with the theme "Youth in Digital Literacy 4.0 with the Meaning of Pancasila and Culture". The MC opened the event by singing the anthem Indonesia Raya guided by the conductor and watching a traditional dance performance by the Jelantika Nusantara studio with the title Sigeh Pengunten dance from Lampung.

After that, the MC gave the opportunity to the moderator to start the seminar activity which began with remarks and opening by Alimin Abdullah as a member of Commission I DPR RI who expressed the government's hope for the community to use the facilities prepared by the government and accelerate the spread of the internet and create digital literacy with Pancasila for the community. .

This was followed by a presentation by resource person Mekel Jeksen with material on the Role of Youth in Digital Literacy 4.0. In his presentation, Indonesia in the digital era has 338.2 million mobile phone connections and 175.4 million internet users.

The challenges of the digital world that arise are like crimes in the digital world such as gambling and fraud.

"We all have to be aware that the digital world must use it intelligently to be aware of that, so that digital literacy becomes better and more useful in the digital world," said Mekel.

Good digital literacy, especially as a youth, must verify the information obtained so that there is no fake news. The role of young people is encouraged to take advantage of the digital world in digital literacy to improve so that the use of the internet becomes even more useful.

"What should young people do? Be careful in disseminating information, because youth are more concerned with the information they get. In some cases there are many frauds in reading data such as personal identity, do not give personal identity to the general public to avoid data fraud. By strengthening digital literacy by eradicating hoax news, by building understanding and collaboration together for literacy," he said.

Mekel Jeksen further explained that the use of social media tools can encourage good knowledge of tools. Then the responsibility of the youth generation, especially the government for the digital world, all aspirations conveyed by the community can be realized by the government to become even better.
