Ministry Of PUPR Builds Flats For Teacher Candidates At PGRI University Semarang

SEMARANG - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is building flats (rusun) for students who will become teacher candidates at PGRI University Semarang, Central Java. This flat cost Rp 12.3 billion.

"The PUPR Ministry is very concerned about the quality of education in Indonesia by building flats for students who will become teacher candidates at the Central Java PGRI University," said Director General of Housing at the PUPR Ministry, Iwan Suprijanto in a statement in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, April 5.

According to Iwan, the facilities in the apartment units built by the PUPR Ministry are very complete. Each residential unit is equipped with furniture such as a bed, wardrobe and study table and chairs as well as an private bathroom.

He stated that this was done by the Ministry of PUPR to provide decent and comfortable housing for the millennial generation, including students, to focus more on studying and studying in higher education.

"We hope that this flat will be immediately inhabited and managed properly by the university so that it can create quality and competitive human resources. The lifestyle in the flat will help shape the character and culture of the millennial generation and environmental factors are very influential," he hoped.

The Head of the Central Java Provincial Housing Provision Work Unit, Wahyu Adi Satriawan said, the PGRI Semarang University Flats were built by the Central Java Provincial Housing Provision Satker, Directorate General of Housing, Ministry of PUPR, from 2020 to 2021 with the multi-year contract method.

The PGRI University Flats are built in one tower with a height of three floors and have 43 rooms with furniture such as study tables, chairs, beds and wardrobes as well as electricity and water lines.

The existing room units consist of 41 rooms and 2 rooms for people with disabilities. This flat has a capacity of 168 students.

Previously, in 2018, the PUPR Ministry had also built a tower tower for PGRI University worth Rp. 11.77 billion which is located not far from the current flat. The flat was built as high as four floors with 50 units of type 24 residential units.

PGRI University Chancellor Dr. Muhdi stated that the campus is very grateful for the construction of student flats from the Ministry of PUPR. This flat can also be a comfortable, clean place for students to live with cheap and affordable rent.

"We are very grateful for the PUPR Ministry for presenting the flats intended for female students. We will make the most of the flats and are currently fully occupied by female students," he said.
