JAKARTA - Kendari Mayor Sulkarnain Kadir confirmed that night entertainment venues (THM) will be closed during the holy month of Ramadan 1443 Hijri. However, restaurants are still allowed to open.
"It is certain (THM is closed, ed.) because it has become our routine (in the month of Ramadan-ed). If there is no restaurant, the community needs it," he said in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Friday (1/4).
He conveyed that the policy of closing THM activities had become a routine agenda during the implementation of fasting in the month of Ramadan.
According to him, business actors, especially THM entrepreneurs, have a good understanding of the policy.
"Even businessmen already know that every Ramadan we respect those who are fasting," he said.
He said the restaurant will remain open because it is a community need, especially those who are not fasting.
Sulkarnain hopes that community activities will be prioritized to improve the quality of worship during Ramadan, especially Muslims.
Regarding the implementation of prayers in mosques, he said that it was permitted with the provisions of maintaining discipline in health protocols, especially wearing masks.
"In accordance with the provisions that (praying at the mosque, ed.) is permitted, it is permissible (to pray Tarawih, ed.) but still with health protocols," concluded the Mayor of Sulkarnain, quoted from Antara.
