KSAL Yudo Margono Flies To The US To Meet The Chief Of Naval At The Pentagon

JAKARTA - The Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono held a working visit to the United States to discuss the importance of cooperation between the two countries in dealing with maritime security issues, regional and global security. He met with the Chief of Naval Operations or CNO United States (US), Admiral Mike Gilday at the Pentagon, Washington.

Admiral Yudo's arrival to the United States occurred on Wednesday, March 30 yesterday, as stated by the Naval Information Service.

Admiral Yudo was accompanied by Assistant for Intelligence (Asintel) KSAL Admiral TNI Angkasa Dipua, Assistant for Operations (Asops) KSAL Admiral TNI Dadi Hartanto, General Chair of Jalasenastri Vero Yudo Margono and staff.

Yudo expressed his appreciation to Admiral Mike Gilday for the cooperation that had been carried out. He hopes that in the future he can improve the program that is already running.

In the field of training, the Navy Chief of Staff is grateful for always being invited to multilateral and bilateral exercises by the US Navy. The hope is that they can always be involved in exercises that support the professionalism of Indonesian Navy soldiers, including the Rimpac 2022 activity in Hawaii.

KSAL also expressed his gratitude after the opportunity for two AAL cadets to be educated at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Maryland, which was held for the first time. The two cadets from Indonesia received full scholarships from the US government until the end of their education period.

On the occasion, Admiral Gilday also emphasized the commitment to continue dialogue and build strong bilateral defense relations.

"Today's maritime challenges require interoperability and the presence of defense equipment so that together we will continue to keep our shared maritime open and free as we promote the security, stability and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific." said Admiral Gilday.

“For more than 70 years, Indonesia has been a valuable partner. There has been a strong strategic partnership between Indonesia and the US and I am grateful for this long history of collaboration, cooperation and training," said Admiral Mike Gilday.

The two Navy leaders then evaluated the progress made in recent years regarding cooperation between the two navies, so that in the future they can further improve the quality and quantity of training and exercise programs between the two countries, as well as defense policy dialogue in general.

Besides Kunker to CNO, KSAL has previously visited Secretary of Navy Carlos Del Toro, and will continue his visit to the Indonesian Ambassador to America and CC to the United States Naval Academy (USNA).
