North Sumatra Pastors Association Support Akhyar Nasution In Medan Pilkada

MEDAN - The North Sumatra (Sumut) Indonesian Pastors Association (API) supports Akhyar Nasution to become the mayor of Medan.

This was conveyed directly by the Head of API of North Sumatra, Pastor Roma Sihombing, while visiting Akhyar Nasution's residence at the Intertip Street Journalist Complex, Monday, September 28.

"Pak wali (Akhyar) is familiar to us. We are here to provide support and to be solid. We are committed to this, because previously we have built repeated communication," said Roma accompanied by the API treasurer of North Sumatra, Pastor Coky Tobing. .

"Especially in our eyes, the wali is showing good progress. Especially his concern for Christianity. So, what is good should be carried out," he continued.

Roma said, currently API North Sumatra has 12 thousand pastors who are also spread across 30 countries including Pastor Johny Pardede, the younger brother of the former Governor of North Sumatra, Rudolf Pardede.

"And they are also ready to provide support to Mr. Akhyar. For that we also ask Mr. Akhyar's willingness to attend one opportunity with API," he hoped.

API North Sumatra advised that if Akhyar was re-elected, the priests in Medan in particular would be able to directly experience the assistance that was present from policy makers in Medan City.

Responding to this, Akhyar admitted that if he continues to strive, he can become a figure who still cares about the diversity of religions in Medan.

"It is like a house of worship. We have thought about facilitating the certification of places of worship because we know this is prone to being sued and displaced," explained Akhyar.

Akhyar said he was always trying to improve the intensity of religious teachers and priests in Medan.

"Regarding the incentives for religious teachers and priests, we will evaluate again. We will look at the APBD first because budget expenditures are regulated by law, but in principle our concern is still high for all religions and we are still fighting for this," said Akhyar.
