KPK Working On Democratic Politicians Regarding Alleged Bribery Of PPU Regent, This Time It's Jemmy Setiawan's Turn

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again scheduled an examination of Democrat Party cadres. After summoning the Chairman of the Democratic Party Bappilu Andi Arief, this time it was the turn of Deputy II of the DPP Membership and Cadreization Organization Development Agency (BPOKK) Jemmy Setiawan.

Jemmy will be examined as a witness to investigate the alleged bribery that ensnared North Penajam Paser Regent Abdul Gafur Mas'ud and Balikpapan Democratic DPC Treasurer Nur Afifah Balqis.

"Jemmy Setiawan, Deputy II of the Democratic Party BPOKK is being questioned as a witness for the AGM suspect," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri in a written statement, Wednesday, March 30.

It is not yet known what examination material will be investigated from Jemmy. However, the KPK some time ago stated that it was ready to investigate the use and flow of bribes received by Abdul Gafur. Previously, the KPK had also summoned Andi Arief. However, the Democrat Party politician was not present on the grounds that he had not received a summons.

For information, the KPK appointed Abdul Gafur with the Acting Secretary of the North Penajam Paser Regency, Mulyadi; Head of Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of North Penajam Paser Regency Edi Hasmoro; Head of the North Penajam Paser District Education, Youth, and Sports Office, Jusman; and the General Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democratic Party DPC, Nur Afifah Balqis as a bribe recipient.

Meanwhile, as a suspect for giving bribes, the KPK has named a private party named Achmad Zudi. These six people have been named as suspects in alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as granting permits in North Penajam Paser Regency.

Their determination was initiated from a hand-catching operation (OTT) which was held on Wednesday, January 12 in two locations, namely Jakarta and North Kalimantan. From the results of the action, the KPK also confiscated Rp1 billion and Rp447 million in Balqis's account.
