870 COVID-19 Patients In Bangka Belitung Undergo Self-isolation

PANGKALPINANG - As many as 870 COVID-19 patients in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province are still undergoing independent isolation under strict supervision from the local COVID-19 Task Force.

"We are involving the TNI, Polri, and village apparatus as well as Public Health Center (puskesmas) to monitor this isoman (self-isolated) COVID-19 patients. Do not let them continue their activities in public places and transmit the coronavirus to other people," said the Secretary of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Bangka Belitung Islands Micron Space in Pangkalpinang, Monday, March 28.

He said that the total number of COVID-19 sufferers in the Bangka Belitung Islands was 965 after there were an additional 37 patients from Pangkalpinang, Belitung, West Bangka, Bangka, and East Belitung.

"Today, only South Bangka Regency has zero cases of people exposed to the coronavirus, while other regencies/cities still have cases," he said.

He said that in the last two weeks the transmission of COVID-19 had subsided in the Bangka Belitung Islands.

"And this continues to be suppressed by strict monitoring of isoman patients, implementation of health protocols, and increasing coverage of COVID-19 vaccinations," he said.
