West Java Police Forms Team To Control Production To Distribution Of Cooking Oil To Prevent Hoarding

BANDUNG - The West Java (Jabar) Regional Police (Polda) now has a team to oversee the circulation of cooking oil. They will be tasked with overseeing production to distribution to prevent hoarding.

The newly formed team is found in all police stations at the district and city levels within the jurisdiction of the West Java Regional Police.

"The sales are monitored according to regulations and also at the time of sale, we also check to prevent hoarding. So the regional police have formed a team to monitor this condition," said Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Commissioner-police (Kombes Pol.) Ibrahim Tompo, in Bandung, Wednesday, March 23.

According to him, the formation of a team to oversee the circulation of cooking oil was a directive from the National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Packaged cooking oil or bulk cooking oil, according to him, needs to be monitored to prevent shortages.

Meanwhile, he confirmed that so far the West Java Regional Police had not found any mafia that played with the circulation of cooking oil to disrupt distribution and prices.

"Until now, we haven't [about the cooking oil mafia in West Java]," he added, citing Antara.

Previously, the National Police Chief emphasized that his party would take firm action against all parties who violate the rules and commit irregularities in the distribution of cooking oil.

"I remind you, don't let anyone who deviates, let alone what should enter the consumer route is turned into the industry, we will definitely pursue it," said the National Police Chief in his statement, Monday, March 21.

The National Police Chief also emphasized that the National Police through the Food Task Force (Satgas) at the central and regional levels will assist in escorting, monitoring, and distributing cooking oil to the market.
