JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin revealed that there are a number of basic problems in vocational education in the country that can become obstacles to creating superior human resources from vocational high school (SMK) graduates.

"Some basic things in vocational education in the country also need to be shared," said the Vice President in his remarks at the Vocational Training for Advanced Indonesia at the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP) West Bandung, West Java, Wednesday, March 23.

The vice president said various basic problems in vocational education include industry absorption that is not in accordance with the number of SMK graduates, a curriculum that is not in accordance with industry needs, the existence of regions that do not yet have an industrial map so that the vocational high school (SMK) expertise program is not in accordance with industry needs. , as well as the provision of facilities and infrastructure used in laboratories and training workshops that are not in accordance with current industry needs.

"Therefore, I believe that the existence of the BLK (Job Training Center) needs to be expanded. The Ministry of Manpower should accelerate the BLK transformation program by building a province, one central technical implementing unit or UPTP, so that tiered coaching and training can be carried out to regional UPTs and community BLKs. building," he said.

The vice president said that currently there are only 21 UPTP BLK spread across 16 provinces, so it is necessary to encourage the synergy of the Ministry of Manpower with local governments including the business world and industry to support the realization of UPTP BLK, both in terms of quantity and quality.

The vice president hopes that the UPTP BLK which has begun to transform into a Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP) can be present in all provinces in Indonesia, so that Indonesian workers are not only able to work in companies but can also build their own businesses with the training they receive.

The Vice President also emphasized that the transformation of the Vocational Training Center (BLK) into the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP), which has already begun, should be more visible in the training program provided. The Vice President stated that the training program is very important for people who will enter the world of work and those who want to build their own businesses.

On this occasion the Vice President also took the time to have a dialogue with vocational training participants and stakeholders.

The vice president received information from one of the BPVP participants, Ono Syaifudin, who is a person with a physical disability.

Ono told the Vice President that he was a participant in the training in making premium cakes and breads. According to him, the training he received was very useful for his current life.

According to Ono, other people with disabilities who participated in the training also received the same benefits as him. "Alhamdulillah, I have been able to accept what was trained, sir," said Ono.
