TNI Provides Stationery Assistance To Children In Buru Island, Maluku

AMBON - The commander of Military Resort Command 151 Binaya, Brigadier General Arnold AP Ritiauw, helped children in the interior of Buru Island, Maluku Province by handing over 371 packages of stationery.

"This assistance is specifically for children who live around the Rana Lake Plain, Buru Regency and in Wahaolon Village, Leksula District, South Buru Regency", said Arnold in Ambon, Monday, March 21.

Stationery assistance is provided in the form of books, rulers, erasers, pencils, pens, and sharpeners. Several textbooks were also given to support the teaching and learning process of children in the area.

The Rana Lake plain is an inland area and is approximately 80 km from Namlea city, the capital of Buru Regency, located at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level and inhabited by tribal residents.

According to the Military Resort Command, hundreds of aid packages had been handed over to the Head of Staff of the 1506/Namlea Military District Commander Infantry, Major Abdul Hamid Seknun, to be distributed to children in the interior of Buru Island.

Arnold Ritiauw, who will end his duties as Military Resort Commander, stated that the aid for learning equipment was part of the "Walang Learning" program which he initiated with all ranks of Korem 151/Binaya.

"Through this assistance, beta (I) hope that children living in remote areas, children from isolated tribes and in isolated areas can study hard and progress and be on par with children living in cities", he said, quoted by Antara.

According to him, various assistances are provided so that the quality of Human Resources (HR) in Maluku can develop and advance evenly.

Since serving in Ambon in May 2020, Danrem Arnold has established 47 Learning Walanges throughout the Maluku region, starting from the Southwest Maluku Regency (MBD) which borders Timor Leste to Buru Island.

The opening of Walang Learning is to assist the teaching and learning process of children, especially in remote and isolated areas and difficult communication networks, making it easier for children to access lessons.

Although he will end his duties as Danrem Binaiya and move to another area, Arnold promised to continue working and do his best to develop Maluku, which is his birthplace.
