Head of BGN Gives Deadline for SPPG to Manage Hygiene-Sanitation Certificates until August 10

JAKARTA - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sudaryono has given a deadline for the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) to handle the Laik Hygiene and Sanitation Certificate (SLHS) until August 10, 2026 for the safety of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG).

"We give time to take care of the SLHS until August 10, and this SLHS is between 0 or 1, you (SPPG) meet the requirements of the SLHS or not? If not, close permanently. So we don't tolerate kitchens that are sanitary and hygienic and then don't meet the standards. So we will give this opportunity until August 10, this is between 0 and 1, so if the SLHS doesn't meet the requirements, it's 0," said Sudaryono as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 6.

Sudaryono emphasized zero tolerance for food safety incidents and classified them as fatal incidents if there were SPPG violations. In addition to suspending the kitchen, BGN is also actively coordinating with the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) to investigate the causes of poisoning.

"The kitchen is suspended, then the food is checked in the laboratory by the Health Office under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, then the SPPG we remove, and we investigate the poisoning because of what? This poisoning we have changed, so this poisoning has become a fatal thing because this treatment concerns the life of a child from a family, which we must guarantee its safety and health," said Sudaryono.

Sudaryono also emphasized that he would immediately remove the head of the SPPG whose kitchen was suspended or terkenasuspend.

"The kitchen that was suspended, we removed the head of the SPPG. We will see whether this is negligence or other elements, then we will investigate further, and it will be considered for making the next decision whether to be fired or the extension of the status of Government Employee with a Work Agreement (PPPK) is not continued," said Sudaryono.

The head of BGN said that until now he had removed 137 heads of SPPG, 49 of whom were in West Java, 26 in Lampung, 11 in East Java, 10 in North Sumatra, 10 in Banten, and five in Central Java.

"Including yesterday in Semarang and causing poisoning at SMK Negeri 6 Semarang," said Sudaryono.
