JAKARTA - Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly said a high level of legal awareness in a village or region would be the government's basic capital in facing global challenges.
"This is because regions with a high level of legal awareness are very supportive of the investment climate," said Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly when inaugurating the assisted villages to become law-aware villages in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) through a written statement received in Jakarta, Monday, March 21.
According to Yasonna, the inauguration of this law-conscious village is a synergy between the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) and the Provincial and Regency/City Governments in NTB.
Based on the existing regulations, the criteria for assessing a village that is aware of the law include four dimensions, namely access to legal information, law implementation, access to justice, and the dimensions of democracy and regulation.
An assessment based on these four dimensions will result in three levels of categories, namely the village has a high, moderate or low level of legal awareness.
As is known, as many as 63 villages in NTB have been proposed to be fostered villages to become law-aware villages in 2022. Furthermore, the Menkumham will issue a decree (SK) regarding the awarding of Anubhawa Sasana Desa and Anubhawa Sasana Kelurahan NTB Province to the 63 villages.

Yasonna said the Ministry of Law and Human Rights would only issue or issue a decree if the proposed village meets the elements as stipulated in the assessment criteria.
"I ask all parties to monitor the villages that have the status of being assisted," he said.
Yasonna reminded that the status or predicate could be reviewed and even revoked if the conditions in the field were not in accordance with the established criteria.
