There Is No Perfect Husband And Wife, Vice President Ma'ruf Asks Putri Tanjung And Guinandra To Accept Each Other To Build A Household

JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin accompanied by his wife Wury Ma'ruf Amin attended the wedding ceremony of the Presidential Special Staff, Putri Tanjung and Guinandra Jatikusumo at Chairul Tanjung Residence, Jalan Teuku Umar, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Sunday, March 20.

According to a written statement from the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Vice President's Secretariat in Jakarta, in addition to congratulating and praying, the Vice President also provided marriage advice at the event.

"First and foremost, straighten your intentions in getting married so that the marriage will be rewarded because in Islam many practices appear to be worldly deeds but can become deeds of the hereafter," the Vice President said to the bride and groom, as reported by Antara.

The Vice President also asked the invited guests who were present and married to renew their intentions in order to get blessings.

"For old brides, whose intentions have not been settled in the past, I ask that their intentions be renewed now. It's called tadjidun intention, renewing intentions, and improving intentions. God willing, the rest is a blessing," he said.

Not only in matters of marriage, said the Vice President, in various other matters, such as social, political, and economic activities, including seeking sustenance, if it is based on good intentions, it will also become a rewarding afterlife charity.

"On the contrary, many deeds seem to be in the hereafter. However, they become worldly deeds, have no merit, and can even be immoral, if the intentions are bad," he explained.

Furthermore, the Vice President reminded Putri and Guinandra that in the ark of the household, there is no ideal and perfect husband or wife. According to him, there will always be advantages and disadvantages to a husband or wife.

"Secondly, accept your wife with all her strengths and weaknesses, accept your husband with all his strengths and weaknesses," said the Vice President to the bride and groom.

When you find something in your wife or husband that is displeasing, according to the Vice President, you must also look for other things from your husband or wife that make you happy.

"When we are annoyed, remember what we like so that it is even. That's the prophet's guidance. If you see something you don't like, there must be (other things) that you like," he explained.

Finally, the Vice President gave a message so that the bride and groom can build a sakinah, mawaddah, and warrahmah household, and have a sense of love and mutual understanding which are the keys to success in running a household.

"This is not only for households, but also in society, nation and state. If there is mutual love, mutual affection, mutual understanding, there will definitely be no conflict, surely everything will be harmonious," he added.

Closing his marriage advice for Putri and Guinandra, the Vice President prayed that this new husband and wife would always be in the protection and blessing of Allah SWT, and become a harmonious and prosperous family.

"Extend his soul mate until the end of his life, given pious and pious offspring; and his household is filled with mawaddah, mutual love; mercy, mutual love; husnu tafahum, mutual understanding," he prayed.

At the ceremony, which took place solemnly and warmly, with the implementation of strict health protocols, the Indonesian President Joko Widodo who acted as a witness for the bride and the 6th president of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as a witness on the groom's side.

In addition, the 10th and 12th vice presidents of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla, the 11th vice president of Indonesia Boediono, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

Putri Tanjung is the eldest daughter of CT Corp Chairman Chairul Tanjung. Apart from being active as an entrepreneur in the creative agency field, Putri Tanjung, who is a graduate of the United States Academy of Art, is also a Special Staff of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.

Meanwhile, Guinandra Jatikusumo is the son of Dwi Asmono and Dira P. Komalaningtyas.

Guinandra's parents are academic researchers. Guinandra is also noted for having many proud achievements, one of which is the man who is familiarly called Andra who was the first winner in the 2009 International Conference of Young Scientist research competition which was held in Poland.

This New York University graduate is known to have worked at Citibank GIC and is currently listed as Principal at Sea Capital Singapore.
