When The Terminator Sends An Important Message To Vladimir Putin: You Start And Can Stop This War

JAKARTA - Russia has always had a special place in Arnold Schwarzenegger's heart. That's why the Hollywood star who skyrocketed through the film The Terminator asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to immediately stop his invasion of Ukraine.

"You started this war. You led this war. You can stop this war," said Schwarzenegger, Thursday 17 March.

The remark was conveyed through a nine-minute video uploaded to his personal Twitter. He appealed to the Russian government, military, and civilians to end the bloodshed in Ukraine.

"The strength and heart of the Russian people have always inspired me," said Schwarzenegger, who claims to have loyal followers in Russia.

"That's why I hope you'll let me tell you the truth about the war in Ukraine and what's going on there," he said.

"No one likes to hear anything critical of their government, I understand that. But as an old friend of the Russian people, I hope you will hear what I have to say."

He also asked Putin and his colleagues in the Kremlin: 'Let me ask you, why did you sacrifice those young men for your own ambitions?

The actor and film producer mentioned his love for Russia and the Russian people since his youth. Then he told about his father, who was part of the Nazi army in World War II.

"When my father arrived in Leningrad, he was pumped up by the lies of his government," said Schwarzenegger.

"And when he left Leningrad, he was devastated, physically and mentally."

"He lived the rest of his life in pain. The pain of a broken back, the pain of the shrapnel that always reminded him of those horrible years, and the pain of the guilt he felt."

"For the Russian soldiers who are listening to this broadcast, you already know a lot of the truth that I am telling you. You have seen it with your own eyes. I don't want you to be crushed like my father."
