State Civil Servants In Tangerang Arrested By Special Detachment 88, Regent: We Pay Attention To Their Lives

JAKARTA - The Tangerang Regency Government has tightened and evaluated the supervision of the social life of state civil servants (ASN) as an effort to prevent the spread of radicalism and terrorism in these government agencies.

This was said by the Regent of Tangerang, Ahmed Zaki Iskandar, in response to the arrest of an ASN, as a terrorist suspect, by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 of the National Police Anti-terrorism.

"Of course, this is a material in the future to be even more strict, paying attention to the social life of state civil servants within the Tangerang Regency Government", Zaki said in Tangerang, Thursday, March 17, quoted from Antara.

As an anticipatory step in preventing radicalism and terrorism, he continued, his party will also guide citizenship and understanding of Pancasila to its employees.

"But what is certain is that we also regularly guide ASN in Tangerang Regency, especially related to countering terrorism, drugs, and so on. So this is an experience and a lesson for them", he added.

To prevent and maintain state security from criminal acts of terrorism, he said all elements of society have a shared responsibility.

"We will submit the rest to the police regarding the information regarding the counter-terrorism act", he said.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of Tangerang Regency, Moch Maesyal Rasyid, added that the status of the ASN terrorist suspect with the initials TO (46), who was arrested by the Police Anti-terror Detachment Team 88, Tuesday, March 15, will receive strict sanctions or dismissal.

However, before taking action against the sanctions, his party is waiting for the results of developments and inspections by authorized officers.

"Of course, we have to make a decision, but we will wait first for results of the investigation by the Special Detachment 88 Team because currently, it is still in the process of being studied", said Rasyid.

Previously, the National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88 arrested four suspects in the Banten area related to the alleged criminal act of terrorism.

The Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, said the four suspects belonged to the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) terrorist group.

"The suspects are on behalf of GU, SS, UMB, and SU", said Ramadhan.

One of the four terrorist suspects arrested in Banten has a background as an ASN. TO was arrested at Samawa Village Housing, Block D4 No. 1, RT 03/04, Jatimulya Village, East Sepatan District, Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Tuesday morning.
