Police Argue With Parking Officers In Meedan, North Sumatra Police Call Problem Solved

MEDAN - Videos of police bickering with parking attendants were shared on social media. The incident is thought to have occurred due to parking near the North Medan One-Stop Administration System (Samsat).

In the video, police argue with a man in red. The police officer felt the man challenged him

"You want the institution to fight. The institution wants you to fight", said the police officer.

Hearing that, the man in red who was arguing with the police officer replied that he had never challenged him.

"Who is challenging. No, yes, wait, sir, wait", he said, holding his cellphone.

The Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, when confirmed the incident. According to him, the problem has been resolved.

"There's no problem, it's finished", said Commissioner Hadi, confirmed by VOI, Thursday, March 17.

Commissioner Hadi said the altercation occurred because of a misunderstanding regarding the parking position. He denied that the police officer obstructed the e-parking lighting or provided the parking lot.

"There is no (backing). I got information that the position should be parallel to one-way parking. But when a 2-way parallel is found or what, it's a road. If you're on a road, don't fill it with all parking", he said.

"The problem is solved, Mr. Traffic Director and Mr. Head of the Department of Transportation have solved it. I read the narrative too much", he continued.

Commissioner Hadi emphasized that the North Sumatra Police and their staff fully support every local government policy. According to him, parking management is part of orderly traffic.

"Essentially, the North Sumatran Police support every government policy to manage parking management. This is part of the orderly traffic. This is the responsibility of all, the government, the police. What has been regulated in Regulation of Mayor, we must support", he said.
