Dismantling President Jokowi's Plan To Unite Land And Water At Zero Point IKN Nusantara

JAKARTA - The land and water unification procession brought by 34 governors in the Nusantara Kilometer Zero Point (IKN) area in East Kalimantan was carried out today, Monday, March 14.

Then what is the philosophy behind the implementation of this activity?

In a press conference that was broadcast on Sunday night, March 13 yesterday, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono said this procession was actually carried out as a marker for the start of the construction of the Nusantara IKN.

"Together with the governors and community leaders, there is a procession in which we pray and of course ask God that this great program can run well and that all elements of society can support it," he said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, March 14.

Heru explained that land and water were chosen because if they were put into one sentence, it would read Homeland. In addition, it is hoped that these two objects can become a symbol of unity because they will be poured in the same place, namely Bejana Nusantara.

"We are an archipelagic country from the tip of Aceh to Papua. And the different local wisdoms are expressed in the symbols of land and water which, when put together, become the sentence of the Motherland," he said.

As for the procession which was broadcast live today, the event for the unification of land and water began with singing the anthem Indonesia Raya.

Furthermore, the event continued with the procession of handing over land and water from the governors to President Jokowi.

From the broadcast, it appears that the Governor of DKI Jakarta was the first to be given the opportunity to give Jokowi land and a jug of water. Then, Jokowi poured soil and water into Bejana Nusantara.

After Anies, then it was the turn of the Governor of Aceh Nova Iriansyah who got a second chance and was continued with other governors, including the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo and the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil.

After the handover and pouring of soil and water to Bejana Nusantara was completed, Jokowi expressed his gratitude when delivering his opening remarks. He said, there are ideals and big work that will begin immediately after the procession.

"Today, Monday, March 14, 2022, we are here together in the context of a big dream and a big job that we will soon start, namely the construction of the Indonesian Capital City," Jokowi said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show.

Jokowi said the unification of land and water is a symbol of the form of diversity. Moreover, during the casting process, 34 governors from provinces in Indonesia were present along with 15 community leaders from East Kalimantan.

Not only that, the land and water brought by the governors are also special because they are brought from their place of origin and poured into the place that will become the location of the new capital city.

"This is a form of our diversity and the strong unity between us in order to build this Nusantara IKN," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

After pouring the soil and water, now the IKN construction will be carried out. It is hoped that all parties from the central government to the TNI-Polri, as well as local governments, the private sector and the community continue to support the development of the Nusantara IKN.

Thus, the development goals of this capital city can be achieved. "Collaboration between the central government, regional governments, the TNI, Polri, the private sector, and the entire community in supporting the development of this IKN will be very helpful so that what we aspire to can be realized immediately," he said.

"Hopefully, we pray that God's guidance and blessings will give us success and smoothness in building this Nusantara IKN," concluded Jokowi.
