JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has fully submitted the follow-up to the report of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri to the Supervisory Board.

Firli was reported to the KPK Council because he gave an award to his wife, Ardina Safitri, who was the creator of the KPK hymn and march. This report was submitted by the 2020 Alumni Academy of Journalism Against Corruption (AJLK), Korneles Materay.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said that the KPK Supervisory Board has a mechanism and standard procedure in accordance with Article 37B of the KPK Law. Thus, all complaints that come in will be handled to the best of their ability.

"KPK has completely handed over the examination process to the Dewas in accordance with their duties and authorities as regulated in Article 37B of the KPK Law. The Dewas certainly has a mechanism and SOP to follow up on any complaints received," said Ali in a written statement, Wednesday, March 9.

Ali believes that Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean et al as Dewas will investigate the alleged ethical violation in a professional manner. All the results will also be announced to the public.

"So let's respect the ongoing process by not preempting to conclude prematurely, especially based on assumptions or opinions," he said.

Ali also said that the hymn and marching donation was carried out directly by the creator, Firli's wife, Ardina Safitri. No payments are made because everything is free.

In addition, he also ensured that the KPK had validated this grant by lowering the Legal Bureau and the Inspectorate.

"KPK through the Legal Bureau and Inspectorate has also carried out validation and examination, including the songwriters, to ensure that this process complies with applicable rules and procedures," Ali explained.

After the process was running, the two songs were then legalized by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) and handed over to the KPK as the owner. Furthermore, these hymns and marches were used at every official KPK event.

"Mars songs and hymns have now been used and played at every official KPK institutional event, with the hope that the noble values in these songs inspire the work spirit of eradicating corruption for every KPK member," he concluded.
