There Is No Suharto's Name, The Presidential Decree On The March 1, 1949 General Attack Is Called Manipulating History

JAKARTA - The academic text of Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 2 of 2022 concerning the Day of State Sovereignty Enforcement is still being questioned.

The academic paper is said to have distorted history. This, of course, injures the dignity of the national historian. This was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the Turn on Prosperous Communities (HMS) Center, Hardjuno Wiwoho.

“Honestly, I only pat my chest when intellectuals, historians, are used for political purposes like this. Our country will be damaged if university intellectuals, historians, play with politics. This country has been destroyed,” said Hardjuno during a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 8.

Presidential Decree No. 2 of 2022, which contains the General Attack on March 1, 1949, was signed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in Jakarta on February 24, 2022.

This presidential decree was controversial because it did not mention Suharto's name as the central figure in the March 1, 1949 General Offensive. In fact, he said, Suharto, who at that time held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, had a very large role in the incident.

In fact, he said, this Presidential Decree is very thick with the nuances of fawning over the Jokowi government. Because on the other hand, this Presidential Decree is considered evil to former president General Suharto.

In fact, Suharto's role in the history of this nation's journey is very large. Even in the hands of Suharto, Indonesia was freed from the threat of civil war and economic hardship.

But oddly enough, Hardjuno insisted, that none of President Suharto's services were to be proud of and it was precisely what was campaigned that seemed full of evil.

"This is really a joy. And remember, Indonesia is what it is today because of Pak Harto's services and sweat. Don't forget that," he said.

In contrast to Suharto, Jokowi, who had a lot of criticism during his reign, was always adored. And even written capable of bringing this nation out of neo imperialism.

"Have you forgotten how much our foreign debt was during Jokowi's era? Have you forgotten that cooking oil doesn't exist even though our country is rich in palm oil? Did you forget how much forest was sold to the imperialists?” said Hardjuno in a questioning tone.
