JAKARTA - Head of the Tourism Industry Section (Kasie IP) of the Central Jakarta Parekraf Sub-dept., Dedy Rustam, said that a number of restaurants and cafes in Central Jakarta were still found violating the crowd health protocol (prokes) at Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

In addition to the crowd, restaurants, and cafes often exceed the capacity of visitors.

"We are still finding restaurants and cafes in Central Jakarta (Central Jakarta) found to have violated the COVID-19 protocol," he said when contacted by reporters, Tuesday, March 8.

Despite the many violations, Dedy said that his party only gave a verbal warning. There has been no firm sanction against restaurant and cafe managers.

According to Dedy, sanctions can only be imposed by the Central Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit.

"It's still just a verbal warning to the restaurant and cafe manager. The spike that occurs is usually at noon at lunchtime," said Dedy Rustam.

Dedy said that prokes violations that occurred in restaurants and cafes were only limited to a crowd of consumers. Meanwhile, other prokes such as social distancing, having Care to Protect, wearing masks, and providing hand washing are good enough.

"Restaurants and cafes can only accommodate 50 percent of their normal capacity," he said.

In each monitoring, his party often gives advice. Such as eating at one table for only two, eating no more than 60 minutes, and keeping a distance between employees and visitors.

"Restaurants and cafes that violate the prokes are usually those who have just started a business or are still small. Meanwhile, large restaurants and cafes are generally more compliant with existing rules," he said.
