PKB Legislator Abdul Kadir Karding Explains The Transfer Of IKN For Equity To Central Java Residents

MAGELANG - Member of Commission VII DPR RI from the PKB faction, Abdul Kadir Karding gave an explanation to the residents of Central Java regarding the relocation of the state capital (IKN) from Jakarta to the archipelago.

This he conveyed during the recess in the electoral district (dapil) 6 Central Java. Karding said Jokowi decided to move the capital city in order to distribute growth and development across all sectors, and not always be centered in Jakarta.

"A transformation that requires a visionary policy will be visible in the future. Pak Jokowi's decision is definitely supported by careful calculations by the right experts," Karding said when opening a small and medium industry training in Magelang, Central Java, quoted on Sunday, March 6th.

Karding gives residents an idea of moving the capital city from New York to Washington DC in the United States. When the capital city moves, a number of large cities can divide their roles.

He explained that New York is now a business city center, Washington DC is a government administration city, and Los Angeles is an entertainment city.

"Several other big countries have shifted the status of their capital cities as a strategy to equalize the growth of the lives of various sectors of their people," explained Karding.

Before closing the discussion, Karding also made a joke to the residents of his constituency. "Who knows in the future each city in Indonesia can take turns becoming the capital city. You'll want it, right, Magelang will one day become the capital city, who knows," he joked, greeted with laughter from the participants.

As is known, the activity to absorb the aspirations of the residents of the 6th electoral district of Central Java was carried out by Karding with the aim of five stopover points starting from March 4-7 2022 which included Magelang City, Magelang Regency, Purworejo, Wonosobo, and Temanggung.
