Toyota Says Yaris Will Have An Electric Version In The Future

JAKARTA - Automotive manufacturers are competing to present electric vehicles at affordable prices, thus providing many choices for customers as well as being able to compete with vehicle manufacturers from China.

Toyota is one of the manufacturers that decided to present its cheap electric car called the Urban Cruiser in Europe. However, this Japanese manufacturer has plans to expand its low-cost EV line in the region.

One of the leading brands in the world plans to present the EV version of Yaris, but they have not been able to confirm the presence of the latest hatchback.

Toyota Motor Europe's Director of Marketing and Product Development, Andrea Carlucci, said it plans to bring electric vehicles across various segments, including entry-levels. However, the presence of Yaris EV will not occur anytime soon.

We deliberately decided to start selling our electric cars in the fastest growing segment. The moment is coming, but it's not yet time yet," Carlucci was quoted as saying by Autocar, Friday, March 14.

Nonetheless, Toyota has confirmed Toyota's supermini EV car will arrive within the decade and is one of the three models launched until the end of 2026 in Europe.

However, the presence of the EV version of Toyota Yaris has the potential to come true considering the manufacturers that have just launched an electric version of C-HR+ or C-HR for the blue continent region.

Toyota Yaris is one of the best-selling vehicles ever offered by manufacturers in Europe and England. Last year in the land of king Charles, this compact hatchback has sold for about 22.000 units, up 21 percent from before.
