Kemenhub-Bogor Regional Government Agree On 7 Steps To Arrange Ciawi Intersection

BOGOR - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) together with the local government (Pemda) of the City and Regency of Bogor have agreed on seven steps to organize the Ciawi Intersection, Bogor, West Java.

"The arrangement of the Ciawi intersection is a necessity, so we need the help and intervention of the central (government) to deal with the Ciawi problem, because around Ciawi the road is a national road, so we need integration for this Ciawi arrangement," said Bogor Regent, Ade Yasin as quoted by Antara, Friday, March 4.

According to her, arrangements need to be made to overcome the chaos of vehicles at Simpang Ciawi, especially its location close to the Puncak area which is often the prima donna of tourist destinations.

The seven steps are, firstly building a flyover by reviewing the detailed engineering design (DED) in 2016 by the Ministry of PUPR, and land acquisition is carried out by the central government.

Second, the process of beautifying the Ciawi intersection is carried out by PT Jasa Marga, in line with the provision of facilities for stopping points or pick points for Transjabodetabek buses carried out by the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ).

Third, build a type A terminal. Fourth, review the plan for the construction of facilities and intermodal integration around the Ciawi intersection carried out by BPTJ. Fifth, optimizing the development budget scheme through the APBN, the private sector, or using the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) method.

Sixth, re-enable the traffic or traffic light at Simpang Ciawi. Seventh, making the Bopunjur Area (Bogor, Puncak, Cianjur) in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 60 of 2020 as a National Priority Area.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, said that PT Jasa Marga has started the arrangement. He asked all parties involved in structuring the Ciawi intersection to collaborate well.

"We will monitor this, I will also report to the Minister, based on the results of the minutes, there are several notes that we must immediately follow up and we will immediately implement short-term plans," he said.
