Deputy Mayor Of Bogor Positive For COVID-19

BOGOR - Deputy Mayor of Bogor, West Java, Dedie Rachim, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms of flu.

Bogor Mayor Bima Arya confirmed the news of Dedie Rachim's exposure. Bima Arya explained that the positive result for COVID-19 was obtained after Dedie Rachim did a PCR test before meeting his daughter who was pregnant.

"The deputy carried out a PCR swab test, because he was going to meet his daughter who was pregnant. The results of the PCR test showed he was positive," said Bima Arya as quoted by Antara, Friday, March 4.

Bima conveyed that Dedie's health condition was monitored stable, because he only had mild symptoms such as flu, so he was self-isolating at home (isoman).

"The deputy's condition is fine with a very mild flu. During self-isolation, a team of health workers from the Health Office continued to monitor his condition. I hope he recovers soon," he said.

The news about the exposure of Deputy Mayor of Bogor Dedie Rachim was first known from his upload on his official Instagram social media account at around 16.00 WIB.

Dedie wrote that after two years since early March 2020 when the first COVID-19 case was recorded in Bogor City, all efforts as the Chair of the COVID-19 Task Force were mobilized for the best handling.

"Finally today, I also had to experience it. The results of the PCR swab test showed that I was positive. Please pray for all of us," he said further.

West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil responded to Dedie Rachim's account by praying for his recovery.

"Hope you get well soon and you will definitely recover. Prayers from us," wrote Ridwan Kamil.

Even Bima Arya, who had tested positive at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, believed that Dedie Rachim's health would soon recover.

"The deputy who is always alert, God willing, the positives will pass soon, don't forget to drink a lot of honey. The city of Bogor needs you, I'm empty without you," wrote Bima.

According to data from the Bogor City Health Office on Friday (4/3), there were additional 220 new positive cases, 496 patients recovered, and zero cases died.

With this addition, the number of active confirmations in Bogor City is 7,906 people, 48,245 patients have recovered, and a total of 535 cases have died.
