Kudus Civil Service Police Unit Confiscates 2,000 Bottles Of Alcohol From Cafes And Stalls

KUDUS - The Civil Service Police Unit of Kudus Regency, Central Java, from January to February 2022 confiscated 2,000 bottles of liquor of various brands from several places.

"Of the thousands of bottles of liquor, most of the confiscations were from a place that was used as a liquor storage warehouse. It is possible that the liquor distribution agent was used," said Head of the Kudus District Civil Service Police Unit, Kholid, in Kudus, Antara, Wednesday, March 2.

In addition, he said, there was also liquor resulting from operations in several cafes and grocery stalls in Kudus. He admitted that he received information that there were other places where liquor was stored, but they were still being tracked.

Even though there have been repeated prosecutions until a minor criminal trial has been carried out, he said, there are still those who are desperate to sell liquor secretly.

In revealing liquor dealers, the Civil Service Police Unit is required to work hard because traders never display alcoholic beverages in shop windows.

The thousands of bottles of liquor that were secured were part of the enforcement of Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 12/2004 concerning Alcoholic Drinks.

He asked for public support when he learned that information about the circulation of liquor was immediately conveyed to the Civil Service Police Unit so that it could be followed up.

Later, he continued, the liquor dealer caught would be legally processed by the Civil Servant Investigator (PPNS) because the owner of the liquor violated Regional Regulation No. 12/2004.

The criminal punishment according to Perda 12/2004 is imprisonment for a maximum of three months or a fine of at least IDR 1 million and a maximum of IDR 5 million.
