COVID-19 Update As Of March 2: New Cases 40,920, Active Cases 536,823

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 601,452 specimens were examined with the results of 40,920 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,630,096 people and active cases have fallen by 2,391 to 536,823 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, March 2.

Today's recovered cases increased by 42,935 cases, bringing the total to 4,944,237 recovered people. Then, there were 376 confirmed positive cases and a total of 149,036 people.

The province with the highest new cases was in West Java with 8,569 cases and a total of 1,016,882 cases. Followed by East Java with 4,911 new cases with a total of 541,084 cases. DKI Jakarta has 4,196 new cases and a total of 1,182,669 cases. Then, Central Java with 3,890 new cases and a total of 582,762 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 13,259 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 5,359 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 5,119 recovered cases, and DKI Jakarta with an additional 4,000 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 85,620,930.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 17.75 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 32,219 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 190,977,514 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 144,506,997 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 10,216,285. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
