Sad News From Serang Banten, Two People Died Due To Flood

BANTEN - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that two residents died in a flood in Serang City, Banten Province, Wednesday, March 2.

Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari in his statement, said two people were also declared missing, according to a rapid assessment of the Serang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) team.

"In addition, 2,413 families living at home are still affected by flooding with a water level (TMA) between 50-200 centimeters," Abdul said as quoted by Antara.

Abdul said through the Serang City BPBD, his party noted that areas that are still inundated by floods include Lontar Baru Village, Serang Village, Kagungan Village, and Kota Baru Village in Serang District.

Furthermore, Kasemen Village, Terumbu Village and Kasunyatan Village in Kasemen District, Drangong Village and Umbul Tengah Village in Taktakan District, Cipocok Jaya Village, Banjar Agung Village, Panancangan Village, Banjar Sari Village, and Tembong Village in Cipocok Jaya District.

"Based on the monitoring of the Serang City BPBD team, the current flood conditions still persist, but the TMA in Lontar Baru Village and Serang Village has begun to recede," said Abdul.

Abdul said as an effort to accelerate flood disaster management, the Serang City BPBD team together with other relevant agencies and volunteers continued to take steps oriented to rescue, evacuation of residents and meeting basic needs.

Meanwhile, the urgent basic needs include ready-to-eat food, clothing for adults and children that are still fit for use, blankets, medicines/first aid kits, toiletries, baby diapers and sanitary napkins.
