PALU - The Regional Leader of the Indonesian Mosque Council of Sulawesi Province is facilitating all mosques in the province to cooperate with the Indonesian Sharia Bank (BSI) and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) as part of the development of mosque functions.

"This cooperation will be marked by the signing of a memorandum of cooperation which is coupled with the inauguration of the Central Sulawesi DMI PW management," said Deputy Chairperson of the Central Sulawesi DMI PW, Iqbal Andi Magga, in Palu, Tuesday, March 1.

Iqbal explained that the collaboration with BSI covers the development of mosque financial management and management, including the management of infaq funds, alms, and zakat funds managed by each mosque.

"So, through this collaboration, mosque administrators and syara staff will be given the strengthening and capacity building in mosque financial management," said Iqbal.

DMI Central Sulawesi assessed that so far the financial management of mosques, which are sourced from zakat, infaq, and alms funds, has not been managed properly. Where these funds are still centralized in a certain piggy bank.

"Therefore, DMI facilitates cooperation with BSI so that infaq, alms, and zakat funds can be managed properly, with good management," he said.

He explained that the collaboration with the Central Sulawesi Province PMI was a form of social service program entitled mosque-based blood donation.

"So, the mosque with all its functions will also be developed into a place for blood donation," he said.

Mosque-based blood donation, he said, was a form of contribution from mosques and congregations in fulfilling blood stocks at PMI Central Sulawesi, with the aim of helping the government and the community with their blood needs.

In Central Sulawesi, based on data from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Central Sulawesi, there are 3,563 mosques and 1,210 prayer rooms in various typologies.

"We hope that mosques and prayer rooms in Central Sulawesi can follow up this collaboration, with the aim of developing the function of mosques, prospering mosques and enliven mosques," he said.
