Nurhayati Officially Released From Suspect Status In Citemu Cirebon Village Fund Corruption Case

JAKARTA - The National Police has declared that the case of alleged corruption in village funds that named Nurhayati a suspect has been officially terminated. The decision to terminate this case is based on the results of the case titles from the Cirebon City Police and the Cirebon District Attorney's Office.

"From the results of yesterday's title, the National Police decided that the Nurhayati case would be terminated today. Tonight, the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, told reporters, Tuesday, March 1.

The termination of the Nurhayati case uses a phase two delegation scheme. The jurisdiction of the case now rests with the prosecutor's office.

After that, the Prosecutor's Office issued a letter of termination of prosecution (SKPP). Thus, the case will automatically be terminated.

"The prosecutor will carry out SKPP tonight as well. So the case related to Nurhayati tonight is also finished," said Dedi.

Meanwhile, the Director of Corruption Crimes at the Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Cahyono Wibowo, said that Nurhayati's case was terminated because no malicious intent was found. Although, from the title of the case he was deemed to have violated the law.

"The results of the title decision or the conclusion of the title state that against Nurhayati there was indeed a violation of the law but there was no malicious intent," said Cahyono.

Nurhayati is a reporter for a case of alleged misappropriation of village funds that caused state losses of Rp800 million from 2018 to 2020. However, she who was previously a reporter is now a suspect.

Nurhayati is a former Treasurer of Citemu Village. He is said to have helped the Citemu Village Head Supriyadi in committing corruption.
