JAKARTA - Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) General (Purn) Budi Gunawan said the construction of the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago became the center of a new civilization in Indonesia. The idea of community transformation has been pursued for a long time in various aspects of national life.

"We can hope to see a form of Indonesia's noble civilization that is more advanced, modern, and beneficial not only for IKN residents, but also for the nation," said Budi in a written statement in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, February 25.

According to him, with the presence of an IKN called Nusantara, the idea of transformation will gain enormous place, enthusiasm, and resources so that it will be accelerated properly.

IKN Nusantara will be built with a modern concept, high technology like a smart city, and fully comply with the principles of environmental sustainability. It will not only change the paradigm of society, but also social and cultural behavior.

He gave an example of one of them is the paradigm and behavior in caring for nature and the environment.

"Because the National Capital was built to have a minimal impact on the environment, using natural materials and based on renewable energy, all stakeholders, including the community, will also absorb the paradigm and culture," said Budi.

Budi Gunawan added, the transformation of the Nusantara IKN will be seen in various aspects, ranging from transportation, reforestation facilities, energy, to natural wealth.

"Transformation in movement or mobility, which is realized by efficient, energy-efficient, and low-carbon green transportation and infrastructure," said Budi.

Budi Gunawan said that IKN Nusantara was prepared for the long term. With this transformation, later IKN Nusantara will encourage the creation of world class talent.

The Chancellor of the University of Kutai Kartanegara (Unikarta) Ince Raden agreed with the IKN transfer.

According to him, there are many advantages to moving IKN from Jakarta to East Kalimantan. One of them is related to the problem of population inequality.

"What we know at this time is that the population gap is very clear compared to other areas in Java, especially Kalimantan. With the transfer of IKN, it will be distributed well," said Ince Raden.
