Commander -in -Chief Andika Perkasa Reminds Soldiers' Duties In Papua To Make People Love The TNI

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa reminded the new tasks of the soldiers assigned to Papua, one of which was to foster people's love for the Indonesian National Army (TNI).

The people's love for the TNI, the Commander explained, can be strengthened through territorial development and social communication, which are currently the main approaches to TNI operations in Papua.

"It's the Kodim's job, the Koramil's job. You don't have to mess around. The main task of the Kodim and Koramil is to build geography, population or demographics, and social conditions. That's nothing more. How do we make them (the community, ed) love us. easy language," said the Commander in Chief while giving instructions to soldiers of the 301st Infantry Battalion (Yonif)/Prabu Kian Santang as quoted by Antara via General TNI Andika Perkasa's YouTube channel, Tuesday, February 22.

During the briefing session, the Commander continued to ask the soldiers not only to recognize the community, but also to build close relationships.

"If when we return, they cry, that is a sign of success. Crying, in a sense, they feel lost because we are going home," said the Commander to the soldiers of Battalion 301/PKS who will serve in Papua for 1 year.

The Commander in Chief, on that occasion, also emphasized that he did not want a weapons approach in Papua.

"My request was not there. From earlier I did not mention weapons. I want everyone to be loved by the community," said Andika.

Finally, before closing his directive, General Andika also asked the soldiers to look after each other while serving in Papua.

"I want all those who left, 450 people, all 450 return. Good luck on duty and happy practicing all," said the Commander in closing his directive.

A total of 450 Indonesian Army soldiers from Infantry Battalion 301/PKS underwent pre-duty training before serving in Papua for 1 year.

In training sessions, soldiers mostly receive material on territorial development and social communication, both of which are the main tasks of the Military District Command (Kodim) and the Military District Command (Koramil).

Andika Perkasa on various occasions, since he officially became the TNI Commander last year, emphasized that his party prioritizes a more persuasive approach, namely through territorial development and social communication, to resolve conflicts in Papua.
