Labuan Bajo Immigration Secures Filipino Citizen Who Lives In Ngada For 4 Years Without Legal Documents

KUPANG - The Class III Immigration Office of TPI Labuan Bajo has detained a woman from the Philippines who is known to have lived in Ngada Regency, East Nusa Tenggara without valid immigration documents.

"This Filipino citizen is known to have lived in Ngada Regency without immigration documents for four years", said Head of Intel IT Subdivision and Immigration Enforcement Class III TPI Labuan Bajo, Christian Prantigo, quoted by Antara on Friday, February 18.

Christian explained that the security for Filipino citizens was carried out after there were reports from residents about foreign nationals living in the Borani area of the district.

"After receiving the report, we immediately reported it to the Head of Immigration Office Jaya, Mahendra, and we immediately formed a team to collect information and facts to ensure the truth of the report", he said.

The joint operation team consists of Immigration officers, TNI (Army), Police, National Unity and Politics, and the Ngada Regency Population Service whose aim is to build synergy and collaboration between agencies so that the implementation of activities can run optimally.

"The person concerned is currently being questioned by officers at the Labuan Bajo Immigration Office. Previously, we had carried out medical tests to ensure that the person concerned was not sick. The results of the examination will be investigated by us and we will act according to immigration rules", he added.

DC itself will temporarily be placed in the Labuan Bajo Immigration Detention Room for a maximum of 30 days because it is proven to be in Indonesia without having a valid and valid residence permit and being in Indonesia without a valid travel document until the person concerned obtains a further decision from the results of the examination.

Head of the NTT Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, Marciana D Jone, said that while he was in Nagekeo, he had a husband and two children where the marriage process was carried out religiously.

Marci said that due to the immigration violation, DC violated the Immigration Law Article 75 paragraphs 1 and 2.

"With the DC, now there are two Filipino citizens who are secured in NTT, one is secured by Maumere Immigration and the other is from Labuan Bajo Immigration. Both of them violate immigration rules in Indonesia", added Marci.
