JAKARTA - Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, stressed that it is targeting the leader of the Houthi movement in Yemen. Israel launched airstrikes on several Yemeni territories overnight.

Israeli airstrikes killed nine people, Al Masirah TV said, a major television news outlet run by the Houthis.

Seven people died at Salif port and two at the Ras Issa oil facility. Both are located in the western province of Hodeidah.

The attack also targeted two central power plants in the south and north of the capital Sanaa.

"I warn the leaders of the Houthi terrorist organization, Israel's long hands will reach you too," Katz said in a post on X.

"Anyone who raises their hand against the Israeli state, his hand will be cut off; anyone who hurts, will be harmed seven times," he continued.

The Israeli military said it carried out an exact attack on Houthi military targets in Yemen, including ports and energy infrastructure in Sanaa.

Earlier on Thursday, the Israeli military intercepted a missile launched from Yemen.

Houthi militants allied with Iran have launched attacks on international ships near Yemen since last November, in solidarity with Palestine in Israel's war with Hamas.
