For Producers, Distributors And Retailers, The Jambi Police Issue A Warning Not To 'Play' About Cooking Oil

JAMBI - The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Jambi Police gave a stern warning to distributors, producers, and retailers of cooking oil not to stockpile.

The available cooking oil must be distributed to the community in order to prevent a shortage. This was conveyed by the Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) of the Jambi Police, Grand Commissioner Christian Tory, when checking distributors and producers.

"Don't let them play games later, hiding from producers and distributors who have distributed them, but from retail shops and markets and so on, they are playing speculation," he said in Jambi, Antara, Thursday, February 17.

The police, he stressed, will not hesitate to take legal action if they find hoarding of cooking oil. The public is also advised to report to the police if they find a shortage of oil in their area.

"We already have a food task force team that checks the availability of basic ingredients and food for the community every day and we update it every day. Once again we urge those who have been given responsibility to be given the authority not to speculate anymore that resulted in a shortage of cooking oil in the community," said Christian Tory.

Meanwhile, the Acting Head of Industry and Trade Office of Jambi Province Agus Sunaryo said that by directly monitoring distributors and producers in Jambi, it was ensured that the cooking oil stock was sufficient for Jambi province's needs.

"We have high hopes that there will be no more shortages in the availability of cooking oil at our traders, especially at retailers and indeed the problem is the price," said Agus.
